The single ‘This Is Love’ was the first single from the ‘Strange Charm’ album to appear in the UK Official Charts (music) during 1986. The single entered the music charts on 19/04/1986 and was listed for three weeks, all in the ‘Top 75’, until its final appearance in the charts for week commencing 03 May 1986. This Is Love reached its highest chart position in the 26/04/1986 music charts achieving a No.28 spot in that week’s chart.
The second single to be released from the Strange Charm’ album was entitled ‘I Can’t Stop’. Appearing in the Official Charts for the first time on 28 June 1986 the single peaked the following week at the No.27 position on 05/07/1986. Spending 4 weeks within the music charts, all within the ‘Top 75’ and three in the chart’s ‘Top 40’, the single last appeared in the music charts for week commencing 19 July 1986.
Released under the names ‘Sharpe & Numan’, ‘New Thing From London Town’ was the pair’s second such collaboration to appear in the UK Official Charts (music). The single was also taken from the ‘Strange Charm’ album. Entering the music chart for week commencing 04 October 1986 the single spent 3 weeks in the charts all within the chart’s ‘Top 75’ places. Peaking at the No.52 spot on 11/10/1986 the single finally appearing in the music chart for week commencing 18 October 1986.
Numan’s ‘Strange Charm’ album entered the UK Official Charts (music) at its highest chart position of No.59 on 08 November 1986 following the chart appearances of the aforementioned single releases. The album spent 2 weeks in the music charts and was last listed in the Top 100 in the charts for the week commencing 15/11/1986.
At the end of 1986 Numan released a charity single called ‘I Still Remember’ in support of the UK’s R.S.P.C.A. (The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals). The original version of the single was on the album ‘The Fury’ from 1985. This charity single entered the music charts on 29/11/1986 and whilst achieving its highest spot of only No.74 (06/12/1986) the record did spend 6 weeks within the ‘Top 100’ places in the UK Official Charts (music). I Still Remember last appeared in the first music chart for the following New Year in the charts for week commencing 03 January 1986.
