Numan’s single ‘Machine + Soul’ was taken from the same named album release. The single release spent its one week at the No.72 position. Its only appearance in the UK music charts was in the week 01 August 1992.
The final release from ‘The Fury’ album to chart in 1985 was the single ‘Miracles’. Entering the Official Music Charts in November 1985 (16/11/1985), the single spent 3 weeks appearing in the charts, peaking at the No.49 position on the 23 November 1985. ‘Miracles’ last charting was in the music chart for week commencing 30 November 1985.
The first track released from the 'I, Assassin' album to chart was the strangely entitled single ‘Music for Chameleons’. The single appeared in the UK’s Official Charts for 7 weeks between 06/03/1982 and 17/04/1982 achieving its highest position at No.19 in the 27 March 1982 music chart. Spending 6 weeks in the chart’s Top 40, the single was last listed (No.66) in the weekly chart for 17 April 1982.
The single release of ‘My Dying Machine’ was the second single taken from the ‘Berserker’ album. It also spent three weeks being listed in the UK charts. The single first entered the music charts on 15/12/1984 at the No.80 spot. Peaking at No.66 the following week, My Dying Machine was last listed in the music chart for week commencing 29/12/1984 and appeared at its final position of No.84.
Numan’s charting single ‘New Anger’ entered the UK music charts on 1 October 1988. New Anger spent two weeks in the music charts achieving its peak position (No.46) on it chart debut date. The single was always listed within the ‘Top 75’ during its short chart life and last appeared in the chart for week commencing 08/10/1988.
Released under the name ‘Sharpe & Numan’, ‘New Thing From London Town’ was the pair’s second such collaboration to appear in the UK Official Music Charts. The single was also taken from the ‘Strange Charm’ album. Entering the music chart for week commencing 04 October 1986 the single spent 3 weeks in the charts all within the chart’s Top 75 places. Peaking at the No.52 spot on 11/10/1986 with the single finally appearing in the music chart for week commencing 18 October 1986.
The first single from 3 to make the UK music charts during 1988 was ‘No More Lies' this was as a collaborative release with Bill Sharpe. The single entered the charts on 30 January 1988 and appeared for three weeks, all within the Top 40 positions. Achieving its highest chart position of No.34 on 06/02/1988 the single was last listed in the music charts for 13/02/1988.
The single release of ‘Pray For You’ was in collaboration with the DJ project, ‘Plump DJs’. The single entered the UK music charts on 29 November 2003 at its highest position of the No.89 spot. Spending two weeks appearing in the music charts the single was last listed in the charts for week commencing 16/12/2003.
The first of the three singles charting as the band 'Radio Heart', the track of the same name entered the UK Singles Chart in March 1987 (28/031987). Spending six weeks in the Top 100, the single achieved its highest placement at No.35 on the 18 April 1987. It appeared in the Top 40 for two of its six-week chart life. The single last appeared in the music charts in October (02/05/1987) of this year.
The single ‘Rip’ spent two weeks within the music charts during 2002. Entering the music charts on 13 July 2002 at its ‘peak position’ of No.29, Rip was last listed in the following weeks charts for the week commencing 20/07/2002.
In anticipation of the then upcoming release of the album ‘Dance’ the single ‘She’s Got Claws’ was released and entered the UK charts on 29 August 1981. The single reached its peak position of No.6 on 05 September 1981, spending six weeks in the music charts in all, 4 being listed in the UK’s Top 40. The single last appeared in the charts on 03/10/1981.
The second single to be released from its parent album ‘Warriors’ was the track entitled ‘Sister Surprise’. Appearing in the UK Charts on the 22/10/1983, the single spent 3 weeks being listed. It reached its peak position in the chart for week commencing 29/10/1983 and the single’s final chart appearance was on 05/11/1983 at the No.62 spot.
Numan teamed up with ex 'Tubeway Army' electric bassist Paul Gardiner to release the single ‘Stormtrooper in Drag’. The single had mild success in the UK Official Charts entering the charts in July 1981 (25/07/1981) and achieving a highest position of No.49 on 08 August 1981. The single was listed in the charts for 4 weeks, last appearing in the chart of 15 August 1981.
This re-release, accredited to ‘Gary Numan and the Tubeway Army’, entered the UK charts in April 1983 (02/04/1983) at the No.97 position and remained in the charts for two weeks, last appearing in the charts for week commencing 09/04/1983.
There was only one chart entry for Numan during 2007. This was in the form of a collaborative piece with 'Ade Fenton'. Working together with Ade Fenton, the single ‘The Leather Sea’ spent one week on the UK music charts during the week commencing 11 August 2007. This collaborative single achieved the position of No.72 during its brief music chart life.
Numan’s ‘The Live EP’ entered the music charts on 25 May 1985. The single/EP follows on after the release of the album 'White Noise (Live)'. Appearing for 4 weeks in the Top 4’ music charts it achieved its peak position of No.27 on the 01 June 1985, and its last appearance was in the chart for week commencing 15/06/1985.
The single ‘The Skin Game’ spent only one week on the UK music charts. The release entered the charts on 21 March 1992 at the No. 68 spot, this was its only showing.
The single ‘This Is Love’ was the first single from the ‘Strange Charm’ album to appear in the UK Official Charts (music) during 1986. The single entered the music charts on 19/04/1986 and was listed for three weeks, all in the Top 75, until its final appearance in the charts for week commencing 03 May 1986. ‘This Is Love’ reached its highest chart position in the 26/04/1986 music charts achieving a No.28 spot in that week’s chart.
The third single release from the successful 'Telekon' album was ‘This Wreckage’. The single entered the Official Music Charts in December 1980, peaking at the No.20 position on 17 January 1981. Just like the first two single releases from the Telekon album, This Wreckage was listed in the UK music charts for 7 weeks, 6 being Top 40 appearances. This single last appeared in the music charts in the chart for week commencing 31/01/1981.
